Ribbon Cutting - Grand Central Building
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on July 16, 2007 to celebrate renovation and reopening of the Grand Central Building, a historic landmark in Inner SE Portland dating back to 1926. R&H Construction has transformed the 43,000 s.f. building, which has been vacant for over three years, into an urban lifestyle center with a city block of underground parking and 18,000 s.f. of ground-level adjacent parking. Mayor Tom Potter, John and Jeff Plew of Foresight Development, Brian Rice of KeyBank, and Tim Holmes of the Central Eastside Industrial Commission addressed the participants gathered in front of the Southwest corner the building. Other firms represented in the crowd were R&H Construction, HOLST Architecture, Heritage Consulting Group, and Urban Works Real Estate.
