As head of Preconstruction Services, Rick Smith is always working hard to find the "sweet spot" for his customers, ensuring they end up with the most attractive and functional building for their money. To Rick, providing accurate estimates and exploring product and system options during the preconstruction process are intrinsically rewarding. He empowers his clients by putting them in a position where they can make smarter decisions that will bring value to their project.

Rick believes that communication and good working relationships among project team members provide the foundation for successful projects. He enjoys working with each project participant, whether it is an owner, architect, or a member of the subcontracting community. Throughout his 18 years with R&H, Rick has also appreciated working with co-workers who are "smart, energetic, and creative" as well as being involved in a workplace that promotes balance in life.

Part of that balance for Rick includes spending time with family and friends, enjoying his children’s participation in athletics, traveling, and woodworking.
