Overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Data Processing and Information Technology Systems for the Company.  Provide support and training for operating departments.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Within broad corporate policy, develop specific objectives and strategies to maintain an effective corporate management information system. Confer with corporate management team and Technology Committee to plan for technology evaluation, adoption and implementation.
  • Oversee network infrastructure and security, providing uninterrupted network services for the Company.
  • Oversee IT department personnel; assign tasks, track progress and verify results. Conduct annual performance and compensation reviews.
  • Participate in analysis, selection and implementation of information systems used in project management, estimating, marketing, finance, safety and human resources.
  • Partner with various functional departments to provide actionable information, data, and reports
  • Direct the preparation and implementation of IT budgets using knowledge of corporate financial objectives and capital requirements.
  • Oversee the installation and operation of computer systems, workstations, and software. Manage information sources such as computer files, data bases, data security and control, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Administer and support server and web-based systems for security, access control, asset tracking, virtual meetings and other purposes.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the commercial construction industry, with an understanding of the accounting, personnel, payroll and construction operations processes and interrelationships.
  • Proven ability to develop corporate IT strategies that anticipate company needs
  • Ability to use Microsoft SQL, Crystal Reports, or similar for report design and queries.
  • Mental ability to conduct on-going interpersonal interactions and analyze and solve problems.
  • Cognitive ability to be a quick learner; grasp new concepts and understand technical issues related to technology infrastructure and applications.
  • Maintain a focus on employing technology in a manner that will maximize value and leverage existing systems and information.
  • Personal computer hardware installation, operation and configuration.
  • Experience with software installation, setup and configuration, including conflict resolution.
  • Network server operation and administration
  • General knowledge of networking communications equipment, such as firewalls, switches, routers and cabling.
  • Advanced level of knowledge in Microsoft Office products.
  • Understanding of database design and development.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in construction, business or computer technology programs.
  • Continuing education on specific software applications and hardware technology.
  • Vista or other construction software a plus
  • Ten years in data processing or equivalent combinations of technical training and skills.
  • Five years in progressive experience managing a team.
