Elevating From Within: Ushering in the Next Generation of R&H Leadership

In 2018, R&H celebrated the promotions of numerous long-term team members into new and heightened roles as part of our strategic succession plan. Throughout the year ahead, we look forward to sharing more about these next generation leaders through this newsletter including their backgrounds, roles with R&H, favorite projects, and of course, their go-to northwest haunts, hiking trails and more!

This quarter, we’re highlighting Kraig O’Connor who serves as R&H’s Director of Buildings. Kraig works alongside Vice President Evelyn Galloni to direct, support and lead R&H’s Portland operations for ground up and large-scale renovation projects. In his new role, Kraig oversees a staff of 20+ project managers, project engineers and support team members, all working together to craft projects that define the Northwest’s identity. Notable projects constructed under his leadership include Redfox Commons, Axletree Mixed Use, Atticus Hotel and Cedar Sinai Park.

Managing a year of steady growth for our Building’s department, Kraig ensures our team members have the resources, talent and time needed to achieve our mission of delivering an exceptional building experience. During his 13+ years with R&H, he has worn many hats including project engineer, project manager and senior project manager providing him with a strong foundation of knowledge, skill and dedication to R&H’s strong company culture.

Away from work, Kraig’s time is divided between a bevy of activities including home remodeling projects, following his favorite sports teams, taking in a good novel and warding off injuries on the recreational sports field. To relax and recalibrate, he heads to a small town on the Baja Peninsula with his wife and friends as often as possible.
