The General Foreman is responsible for providing leadership and directing the work of R&H crews and subcontractors on Buildings projects, generally $10M+ in size where they oversee all scopes of work with other trade foreman reporting to them. The general foreman is also responsible for safety, quality control and jobsite logistics/coordination
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under their direction.
- Ensure completion of initial safety and hazard assessments (site specific safety plan and pre-task plans).
- Track jobsite safety requirements, including employee safety certifications, tool and equipment inspections, etc.
- Communicate and set expectations regarding job assignments to subcontractors and R&H team members.
- Manages materials, equipment and labor budgets for self-performed work. Completed forecasts and cost control for self-performed labor across all divisions of work.
- Interpret and understand the comprehensive plan set, specifications, RFIs, ASI and other architectural change items for assigned scopes/trades; Review technical data related to submittals for conformance with the contract documents including layout and dimensions.
- Lead foreperson pull planning and schedule meetings and deliver accurate updated rolling schedule to the superintendent for incorporation into the project master schedule.
- Direct and review work crews under supervision put in place to ensure it is compliant with construction documentation.

Education & Skills
- 7+ years of progressive field experience, including demonstrated ability in all divisions of work (i.e. excavation/civil, concrete, framing, finish, envelope, etc.) and/or has a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering management and 3 years of construction experience
- OSHA 10 Hour Certification a plus (will be required to become OSHA 30 certified)
- Commercial construction safety knowledge / training
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Lead the crew(s)
- Effectively communicate (orally and in writing) in English, with good comprehension
- Speak Spanish is a plus
- Manage, coach and teach crew(s) members
- Utilize Microsoft Office programs including, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Utilize MS Project for scheduling
- Edit documents in Bluebeam
- Utilize an iPad and AutoDesk Construction Cloud to track issues, QA/QC and access project documentation
- Manipulate CAD/Point Layout files and a total station to conduct layout
