A summer refresh brought big changes to the University of Portland’s Shipstad Hall. The R&H team completed a four-story storefront upgrade, refreshed hallways and common areas, updated units and added a new lounge and study room in the basement. Students returned this fall to a bright, updated home base.
Fun fact: Shipstad Hall opened in 1967 and became UP’s first co-ed residence hall in 1987.

We love when our team comes together for our community. R&H delivered nonperishable food donations from our recent food drive to our client at @sunshinedivision, whose food box program has served our community since 1922 and continues to do so, now more than ever. After we dropped off the donations, R&H volunteers stayed for an afternoon of food box packing. With R&H crews currently underway on Sunshine Division’s new HQ, it felt extra special to stop by and give back to such an important organization.

Looking ahead, R&H will begin building dry-in, the stage that protects the structure from the elements. Perched on the corner of NW 23rd and Flanders, @guardianre_pdx’s new office brings together a thoughtful blend of modern and traditional design. After completing a complex renovation of the building, R&H delivered a 23,000 s.f. tenant improvement that transformed the second floor of the former Williams-Sonoma space into a warm, contemporary workplace with rich wood tones and creative details, including a glass art wall of houses that nods to the real estate industry. Having partnered with Guardian for many years, it’s a special honor to help bring a client’s own space to life, and we’re thrilled with the result.

The event drew public excitement as this next chapter begins for one of Portland’s most trusted hunger relief organizations. R&H is proud to partner with Sunshine Division on a project that will expand their reach and deepen their impact for community members facing food insecurity.

To celebrate this major community milestone, we joined @washingtoncountyor, elected officials and project partners in a ribbon cutting celebration and facility tour. Building on the success of the Hillsboro Recovery Center that R&H completed in May, the Beaverton Recovery Center will expand access to critical recovery services across Washington County. Opening November 17, the center will include 86 treatment beds and provide residential, sobering, withdrawal management and transitional support services in partnership with CODA, Inc.
