According to industry research, 1 in 5 construction workers struggle with anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges. Signs of these conditions can often be easily overlooked, and could be affecting someone you know.
Today marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Month, where R&H will be kicking-off 30 days of mental health-focused content for our team (more to come later this month). By acknowledging the mental health crisis in our industry, speaking openly about mental health and ensuring our team members have easy access to immediate and long-term mental health resources, R&H is taking an important step toward breaking the stigma of asking for mental healthcare. We all benefit from supporting one another, leading to safer jobsites and a stronger team culture.
Call, text or online chat 988 to be connected to the 24/7 national suicide and crisis lifeline. @namioregon also has great resources and can help in a crisis. Just text NAMI to 62640 to connect with a specialist. Both of these resources are free and confidential.

Golf season is now in full swing, with sunny days on the horizon! To get into the spirit, we’re driving into R&H’s renovation and expansion of Oswego Lake Country Club’s Pro Shop and course-side restaurant known as Murphy’s Bar. Scope included a full remodel and addition to the existing facilities and installation of a new stormwater mitigation system as well as a full renovation of the main clubhouse kitchen.
Throughout construction, R&H coordinated with the club to ensure minimal disruption to members and staff, keeping operations on par. The Pro Shop was temporarily relocated to the adjacent parking lot and a temporary kitchen was run out of the main clubhouse. Special thanks to our project partners at GBD Architects for making this project a hole-in-one!⛳☀️

Six R&H team members stepped off of the jobsite, away from the office and into a powerful day of learning and connection at Friday’s Safe From Hate Summit, hosted by Oregon Tradeswomen at the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center. The summit brought together a broad range of AEC industry stakeholders who shared resources that support women and marginalized groups, highlighted successful implementations of Respectful Worksite Programming, and fostered honest conversations about the ongoing challenges of creating respectful, inclusive workplaces. Our team left feeling energized, inspired and excited to bring those insights back to R&H.
Thank you @oregontradeswomen, the Safe From Hate Alliance and @necaibew48 for hosting such a powerful and engaging event!

Building for our community!🔨✨ R&H partnered with @reachcdc to build a ramp for a North Portland resident in need of a safe, accessible entrance to their home. REACH is a nonprofit dedicated to creating quality, affordable housing and expanding opportunities for families and individuals across the Portland metro area.
We were proud to contribute our time, talent and materials for this project. A special shoutout to R&H craftsworkers Juan Wyman and Jimmy McCowan, who completed most of the build in just one day! Take a look at the transformation above.
