Central Lofts

PORTLAND, OREGON

Central Lofts is a four-story apartment building designed with efficiency in mind. The development uses cross-laminated timber (CLT), a glass curtain wall and panelized cladding to reduce the overall construction schedule. The building features jewel box-like oriel windows that extend over the adjacent St. Johns Plaza and offer views of Forest Park, the plaza and the nearby neighborhood. Central Lofts is home to 30 studio and one-bedroom apartments, two retail spaces, bike storage and ground-floor facilities.

Located on Highway 30 at the St. Johns bridgehead, Central Lofts required extensive pre-planning to ensure a safe and successful installation on this logistically-challenging site. Crews took extra precaution to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicular traffic as well as preserving the livelihood of neighboring businesses.
