EVO & Industrial Home

Portland, Oregon

R&H performed a full renovation of the historic Industrial Home building including this 12,000 s.f. buildout for EVO’s retail space. The original structure, constructed in 1893, was built with unreinforced masonry. The north half of the building was added in 1930. R&H performed a major seismic/structural upgrade that included two structural steel brace frames and four shot-crete shear walls each anchored by large spread footings. This two-story space is unified by central atrium staircase and includes many salvaged and reclaimed pieces from the original interiors of the building. This project unites modern design and a historic feel to create a unique retail store for EVO.

It was really clear that everyone took pride in delivering a great end product and despite the given the inevitable changes that come up in every project, they were always focused on finding smart solutions, working together to hit a common goal.
