Nestled at the Burnside Bridgehead in the Central Eastside district, R&H performed a full renovation and conversion of the historic Vivian Apartments building, originally constructed in 1910. The new KEX Social Hostel features space for overnight guests, a Chef’sTable restaurant & bar and a rooftop patio.

As a part of the renovation, R&H performed a full seismic upgrade of the building as well as installed an elevator and completed structural upgrades to facilitate the new rooftop amenities space. R&H crews focused on preserving the historic features of the building, which has been submitted for the National Historic Register.
