Waypoint Hotel

Bend, Oregon

Located in Bend’s up-and-coming Central District, R&H recently performed significant exterior and interior upgrades to the 37,000 s.f.  Waypoint Hotel to give the space a fresh contemporary look with a distinctly Central Oregon aesthetic. Improvements include a fully renovated welcome lobby designed to capture the outdoor recreational passions Bend is known for, including a 17-foot canoe-turned-light-feature suspended over the contemporary furniture facing the cozy upgraded floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Additional upgrades include exterior roofing replacements to feature modernized framed design, opening up space for a breakfast lounge that improved guest circulation through stations, renovated guest rooms featuring enhanced soundproofing and modern casework updates, and an outdoor fire pit area with built-in and moveable seating to accommodate guest needs.

Signature Inn Bend was the first project to go through Bend Design Review in a new zoning overlay district. Since opening, the refreshed boutique hotel has provided momentum in the revitalization of the neighborhood, with additional improvements underway along the Third Street corridor in downtown Bend.

Progress

Originally built in 1972, R&H worked closely with Holst Architecture and Red Lion to help turn this dated hotel into a modern boutique stay experience. This phased project included removing mansard roofing, opening up the lobby and breakfast guest spaces along with outdoor amenity improvements to enhance comforts away from home. The hotel remained open and operational throughout the renovation.
