Back to back and bold to the bone, our two-time Chili Cookoff Champion smoked the competition for a second year in a row. Our annual cooking competition is a favorite among R&H team members, with voters choosing their top recipe from a lineup of creative and seriously flavorful entries.
Our 2025 Cookoff winner Jake Sly, R&H Vice President, held onto his crown in the 2026 competition with a classic chili highlighted by a variety of home-smoked meats and a few secret ingredients. Thanks to all our chefs and taste testers for another delicious showdown. #lifeatrhconst

Golden sledgehammers made it official at Terwilliger Plaza. This week we celebrated the groundbreaking for the renovation of the heart of this senior living community, including a refreshed lobby and dining room plus a major seismic upgrade to ensure safety and resilience for decades to come.
As Terwilliger Plaza’s COO shared, this project is truly about "laying the foundation for stronger community". These spaces are where neighbors meet for coffee, share meals, celebrate milestones and welcome family and friends. We are honored to help bring that next chapter to life alongside the Terwilliger Plaza team and project partners. More updates to come as this exciting transformation gets underway. @lrsarchitects

Support the preconstruction and bidding process across a wide range of commercial projects and markets through quantity takeoffs, bid package development and cost estimating. This role works closely with Preconstruction and Project Managers to develop competitive and well-coordinated proposals.
SUPERINTENDENT, SPECIAL PROJECTS GROUP
Lead field operations for projects typically ranging from $5–$15 million across hospitality, retail, office, winery, multifamily and other markets. Coordinate trade partners, schedules and safety while delivering high-quality work in active and often occupied environments.

New year, new project 🎉 R&H broke ground on the Piquette Hotel, a two-story, 17-room boutique hotel coming to McMinnville’s rapidly evolving Alpine Ave neighborhood. Once defined by warehouses and industry, the area is transforming into a lively, community-focused district with a market, restaurants and new accommodations, accented by a pedestrian-friendly corridor. The Piquette Hotel honors that industrial past while introducing a modern, welcoming place to stay. A summer refresh brought big changes to the University of Portland’s Shipstad Hall. The R&H team completed a four-story storefront upgrade, refreshed hallways and common areas, updated units and added a new lounge and study room in the basement. Students returned this fall to a bright, updated home base.
Fun fact: Shipstad Hall opened in 1967 and became UP’s first co-ed residence hall in 1987.

R&H delivered nonperishable food donations from our recent food drive to our client at @sunshinedivision, whose food box program has served our community since 1922 and continues to do so, now more than ever. After we dropped off the donations, R&H volunteers stayed for an afternoon of food box packing. With R&H crews currently underway on Sunshine Division’s new HQ, it felt extra special to stop by and give back to such an important organization. #rhconstdogood
